I don't think this qualifies as a bug. Here is the issue.I have a "IBM rapid access III" keyboard which requires the reception of two bytes (0xea 0x71) to enable 7 special keys. This need be done only once after power on.
Since the system and X takes the keyboard once the boot process starts, I am thinking it would be nice if 'grub' could do this. I am thinking of a way (command) to make the keyboard available as an output device followed by a string to send it.
This may already be possible (if so please enlighten me) or just not something worth doing anything about.
