Neil,

Your solution is successful after I first un-install previous libtool-ltdl with 
rpm -e because conflicted rpm install to /usr.  Thank you for your best 
support.  Maybe future ./configure will recognize situation.

I don't know Fedora very well, but from a bit of googling it looks
like you should install the packages "libtool-ltdl" and
"libtool-ltdl-devel".
