Sorry, it took me longer than expected to come back.
I got my gcc on Solaris 10, with a fixed binutils, and with it, I
built guile now 2.0.9.
The build goes now through without problems, and the tests pass with
threads enabled, with one only glitch:

./test-language: !: not found
FAIL: test-language

==================================
1 of 31 tests failed

The test skipped is:

SKIP: test-pthread-create-secondary
