markus,
thanks a lot for your response which I forwarded to the macports people. I
hope
they can sort this out finally.
in the meantime I found I workaround somewhere which is to copy XKeysymDB
from /usr/X11R6/X11/share to /opt/local/share (macports keeps all the
installed
stuff in /opt/local, not /usr/local). after this the warnings go away and
all keybindings work.
what I do not understand: I've got the impression that the _presence_ of
XKeysymDB is no longer desirable (?) or that the apLineDel line in that
file causes the problems (?).
now in the XKeysymDB file I've copied as described above I see this line:
apLineDel :1000FF00
could someone please clarify what's going on (or give a a good link where
it
can be found)?
thanks
joerg

so that's what I'm trying to do: any feedback would be appreciated,
since I don't
know where to start (some wrong definitions in resource files, e.g.?)
Ah, so Macports has updated libX11. Good to know.
It's a known bug: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?31754 ( + patch )
http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=339394 ( + patch )
