Hi
GZIP Version V1.2.4 Windows and OpenVMS
When I zip a file on a Windows-System and copy *.gz-File to
OpenVMS-Host
Pathworks-Share, then I cannot gunzip the file.
Error-Message: invalid compressed data--format violated
When I copy the same file with FTP in binary mode, then it works fine.
The differenz is the record-format at OpenVMS-site.
FTP generate an "Fixed length 512 byte records" - Format.
Pathworks generates an "Stream, maximum 0 bytes, longest 0
bytes"-Format.
gzip cannot handle the format generated bei Pathworks (Advanced Server
for OpenVMS) - Stream-Format.
Also OpenVMS-gzip V1.3.12b has this problem.
May be some one can fix it.
Thanks, Frank
