httptunnel! :-)

Hi guys,

Thanks so much for making httptunnel available! I am having lots of fun
with it--when it works :-( I am trying to use it behind a firewall at
work, and they only way out is through a proxy server--actually two to
be exact. I use NT, and have successfully gotten a compilation of your
lastest release, 3.5 using CygWin.

One proxy server here at work, the older one (which is scheduled for
retirement in the near future), uses a regular authentication system:
username:password, which seems to work most of the time. I have noticed
that I can get out (I attempt to connect with my system at home from
work using SSH2), but when I disconnect the SSH2 client locally, I
can't seem to get back in. I even try to terminate the local htc.exe
instance and get the same results. So, although it works, it isn't
reliable most of the time.

The other newer proxy server uses NTLM, which requires the DOMAIN name
as part of the user authentication. I have not gotten httptunnel to
work *at all* with this server--it always terminates connection
attempts with authorization errors. In fact, no other 'Net app seems to
work very well with that proxy except for IE5 and Windows Media Player
6.4.

Anyway, just wondering if you guys are working on various proxy
support. Do you have any workarounds? Any patch I could try? I am a
C/C++ developer, so if you have suggestions or even bug fixes you'd
like me to test out, I would be more than willing! :-)

Take care for now,

Doug Barbieri

PS: I can provide any debug log dumps you may require.
