There must be a FAQ entry somewhere that tells you it's the oskit-branch of
the gnumach cvs module.

To my knowledge noone has verified this problem exists or looked into it.

This change doesn't make sense. See i386/i386at/i386at_ds_routines.c,
which is where the real device server functions are in gnumach.
