   I think it might also be nice to create a "punch list" of known
   bugs or missing features that people think are essential for a 1.0
   release.

And/Or for the next release.  Features that would take time to
implement (libchannel?) could wait a bit, but bug fixes should be put
into the next release.

Roland, what do you think?
