Maybe I'm just strange, but I would prefer the definition of the
variable to be outside the #if block, and only the initialisation inside
it. While I know the compiler doesn't have a problem with this, it
feels like the scope is limited to the #if block, like it would be with if.
I don't care much about it, though, so you can just ignore this message
if you like. ;-)
