GNU Mach --- as it doesn't depend on an operating system environment ---
doesn't need to be cross-compiled.

Basically yes, but as you can see on the packages's versions they use,
both of these guides are getting ``a bit'' old.

You could use my scripts, which are available at
<http://nic-nac-project.de/~schwinge/tmp/cross-gnu> and
<http://nic-nac-project.de/~schwinge/tmp/cross-gnu-env>.  Note that for
glibc everything that is newer than glibc-2_3-branch will need some
serious work before it'll be in a working state.  Also, a 4.0.x version
of GCC is more likely to produce a functioning tool chain than the recent
4.1.x ones.
