Hello,
So I'm trying to use the Hurd to run my website: gnu-hurd.com (Currently
debian 9 is serving the site). When I asked around on #hurd, I was told
that the Hurd can run on a linode.
But does it run well? What would be the best way install the Hurd on a
VPS? Is there a VPS somewhere that lets you change the qemu options? I
found this link that says that the hurd could run on openstack:
https://www.gnu.org/software/hurd/hurd/running/cloud.html
But I have no idea what openstack is. No one understands the cloud.
Update on booting the Hurd from a linode:
I did get my linode to almost boot a Hurd installer image:
SeaBIOS (version rel-1.11.0-0-g63451fca13-prebuilt.qemu-project.org)
iPXE (http://ipxe.org) 00:03.0 CA80 PCI2.10 PnP PMM+3FF914C0+3FEF14C0 CA80
Booting from Hard Disk...
.
But then it seemed to stop working. I'll see if it's done connecting tomorrow.
Any suggestions would be most welcome,
Joshua
