How do I test it are some kernel snapshots being build that I can 
install&try?

This laptop appears more standard for HURD to be used then.

I found the manual on the internet.. there is no mention of serial in 
the whole document, there are no ports, although IRQ3 and IRQ4 are 
mentioned for COM... and Infrared is on IRQ9, so it should not be an 
issue here
