I haven't heard that people have problems with Ant version differences. You
reported success, so I'm not sure what you'd want me to add to the
documentation. If you had some more data-points as to which versions of Ant
fail and which work then that would be useful.
I can see there might be some advantages to switching to Ant as the primary
build system, but there are also some disadvantages. partly I'm not as fluent
with Ant; I think it's ugly and verbose; I'm not sure how to all the things we
need. But the biggest problem is time: I have a back-log of more interesting
tasks to work on, and switch to Ant isn't a priority. That might change
if/when I decide to strengthen NetBEans or Eclipse support; better Ant
integration would certainly help for NetBeans.
