I checked in the SwtFrame.java fix. I think the SwtCharBuffer.java fix is wrong. I've added an new attachment swt2.patch - could you try it? The SwtBuffer.java fix is OK, but it doesn't handle characters whose value is >= 0x10000. I know there are lots of ways such characters won't work, but there is code Marker#insertChar to handle this case using surrogate pairs, so I figured might as well reuse that code. So please try out the attached patch and let me know how it works.
