Sure. I had hoped to have enough time this weekend finally, but it
looks already that all of that will be spent pushing remaining bits
into branch-1-5 anyway. :-/

That may be more difficult than it looks like.. What is the entry in
the installed .la file's dependency_libs supposed to be? What if (part
of) the path is a symlink pointing relative but more than one level
deep?
