The page size settings must be supplied in the \bookpaper
block, so you could try \bookpaper { #(set-paper-size "a4" 'landscape) }
We should probably rename the \paper {} block. Any ideas? Eg.
\layout ?
\book {
\score {
..music..
\layout { .. }
}
\bookpaper {
..
}
}
