This is weird.. even with your latest cvs update (ChangeLog 1.2632) I still 
get the same problem, exactly the same as Jan reports.

I'm using debian sarge, which among other things implies:

Guile 1.6.4
Python 2.3.4 (#2, Jul  5 2004, 09:15:05)
