I suspect the first suggestion failed because MultiMeasureRestText refers
to the automatically-generated text box that contains the number of
measures, not to any additional user-supplied markup.
Wrong guess, the numbers are handled by the MultiMeasureRestNumber
layout object. However, if you go through the program reference
for the different layout objects, you will notice that TextScript
has among its interfaces the item-interface, which MultiMeasureRestText
doesn't have. This is where the no-spacing-rods property is defined.
I don't know the implementation details well enough to explain this
difference, though.
