Hi, something peculiar happened. It seems that this lyric extender bug does not appear in earlier versions (2.7.17) for Windows XP (extractXP.pdf). Compare this with the file generated by version 2.7.18 for Windows 98 (extract98.pdf). It seems that Lilypond in different platform types behave slightly different. 
I will test this again when 2.7.19 comes out.
