Shouldn't lyrics be within the linewidth of the staff by default?
Checking to make sure lyrics or markup are within the margins is a big
computational task (I think it adds 5-10% to compiling a file). To
turn it on, use
\override Score.PaperColumn #'keep-inside-line = ##t
(I know this works for markup; it should work for lyrics as well)
