In the 2.8 and 2.9 documentation in "7.2.2 Chords mode" we have: Modifiers can be used to change pitches. The following modifiers are supported: ... maj The major 7th chord. This modifier raises the 7th step if present. Then in "7.2.3 Printing chord names" is the example: \chordmode { \repeat volta 2 { f1:maj f:7 bes:7 c:maj } \alternative { es e } } [1][image of music] The example seems to imply that the triangle is the symbol for a major chord instead of being the symbol for a major seventh. I suggest that the two relevant chords in the example be shown as f1:maj7 and c:maj7 to avoid any confusion here.
