The 2.11.46 would be the issue there (where did you get that from?). I
was working with ver 2.11.45 that I got from the main Lilypond site.
I'll have to try that again when I get home.

The reason I was working with an OttavaBracket is that every other
bracket I've seen is a postfix bracket and can't put a bracket over a
single note.
