Yes, as far as I can remember, these warnings have always appeared when you use the Devnull trick. If you search the mailing list archives, you'll find that Han-Wen has never really agreed that this is a good way to do things. However, I think that it's a clever trick that can be useful from time to time. The manual should also point out that the alignment will not be exactly the same as if you use \lyricsto or set associatedVoice, but since you only need the Devnull trick in situation where you do not have any typeset Voice to associate the syllables to, I don't find it a critical issue. /Mats
