So I think this is a bug in the build of the installer rather than the
installer or LP itself -
but I'd defer to those that know more about building. It;s not a huge deal
but I'd be interested in what Phil's PATH looks like :) He says he has
installed over 22 versions.
I know there is a limit on 32 bit Windows systems and that the PATH can get
too long but again, I don't know the figure.

I ended up unable to use PING, since my PATH was so loaded with lilypond
paths, it lost c:\windows\system\
So can we open this as a low priority build-type bug please ( or whatever
some thinks)
When uninstalling, installer should remove the original LP path in windows.
I guess that's a GUB thing.
