Badness also occurs with tuplets:

\paper { ragged-right = ##f }
\relative c'' { r2 \times 2/3 { r2 bes4 ( } \times 2/3 { a4 aes a } \times  
2/3 { aes a ) r4 } }
% versus
\relative c'' { \time 6/4 r2. r2 bes4 ( a4 aes a aes a ) r4 }
