ah yes, that'll get ickier.  fontforge needs to be built from source --  
presumably you know how to do that?  As part of that building from source,  
you need to point it at Python.h and/or tell it to compile swig bindings.

Don't try to install a package from 12.04 on 10.04.  If you're not  
comfortable building from source, then it might be best to jump directly to  
12.04 after all.
