Yes, commit 71aea07e4c3ff911e32f41cd1119d293959abb27 does not have any
pointer to a previous discussion.
I'm not sure if the discussion above is related. That patch seems
specific for links in translated manuals, so it's not related at all to
the path of the pictures/ directory.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure that the instructions in the CG manual - at
least now - are wrong. Perhaps we changed something in the way the
build script generate the URLs and now moving pictures/ up of one level
is just wrong.
If you follow the instructions as they are now in the CG you'll see
immediately that it's wrong. The html files in website/ need the images
in ./pictures/ (and not in ../pictures/).
