Hello Dale,

Could you please revert commit c0a6eb1 with ‘git revert’?

A big squashed commit like this makes it hard to understand what actual
changes were made, to review them, to bisect them should they introduce
regressions, and so on. Incidentally, it changes authorship and is
unfriendly at best to the contributor.

From there, please apply selected commits one by one, by piping the
patches through ‘git am’, without any modifications.

Thanks in advance.

I wholly support the efforts by Mathieu. As a Guile co-maintainer, I
can tell they go in the right direction. Focusing on Guile 2.x is the
right thing given that 1.8 is no longer maintained, and given that
Debian, for instance, has had 2.0 for several years now.

Furthermore, GuixSD is the (only?) potential user of mcron, and its
needs have to be addressed now. From that standpoint, I’m happy Mathieu
works towards addressing the issues I reported in January¹ and many
others I had not reported yet. I think we have an opportunity here, and
that we should work together.

Ludo’.
