I knew it wasn't an ncurses problem through my extensive testing, the one that
conclusively proved it was taking a "script" session and viewing it on 2
VTs and one it'd display weird on and one it'd display correct on, and after
using the ^[(U trick on the weird one it'd look correct, the output of ncurses
was obviously totally correct, I just didn't know where else to ask ...
It's fairly rare for me at this point to run into something I am so unfamiliar
with but that console_codes manpage is definitly chock full of stuff I don't
(currently) know. Thanks for the pointer.
