extending ripoffline command ?

Does it make sense to extend the ripoffline command past the five line limit
?

Using a framebuffer console allows direct graphics display on the screen.
Limiting ncurses to, effectively, a bottom toolbar might provide a versatile
display capability.

It would be nice to keep the framebuffer graphics and the ncurses controls
as separate as possible.
