PuTTY has a setting to do BCE or not, since as far as I remember
(don't know, 0.51 from 2000 at least): "BCE"=dword:00000001 in the
registry, or Settings/Terminal/Use background colour to erase screen
checkbox. The instalation default for new sessions was BCE=off until
version 0.53b. Now since October 14 2002 it's BCE=on (released in 0.54).
Existing sessions retain setting as it was when saved, of course.
Bye! Alain.
