Clarification about ncurses license.

Hello Sir,

This is a part of the entry on ncurses in Wikipedia :

"Ncurses is a part of the GNU project. It is one of the few GNU files not distributed under the GNU GPL or LGPL; it is distributed under a permissive free software licence, similar to the MIT License..."

I am wondering , that if I develop an application which uses the ncurses library , then will I be able to distribute that application under the GPL ? If not then what are my options ?

Any clarification would be very helpful.
