Hey guys,

I just wondered whether ncurses is officially classified as a gui
or a tui? I know it can handle graphics but apparently its
officially a tui. I just wanted to know the official word on the
subject.

It supports tui's, but is not _itself_ a tui (just like the X
Toolkit supports gui's - both are low-level libraries). The
form/menu/panel libraries are somewhat higher-level.

A funny thing is that I (a long time ago) had a library that
took motif applications and made them textbased. Like curses.

WM_Motif for instance (though I've only read occasional comments about that)

So you could program Motif and end up in a text interface. Scary...
