hmm - I was not able to find a problem here. It might be specific to
the libtool version (I'm using 2.4.2 at the moment) or platform (I don't
have DragonFly currently (I investigated it a couple of years ago, but
the release is old...
I'm only seeing one directory in the .la file's libdir value.
I tested with/without the --with-cxx-shared option.
