Thanks again Thomas. One last question... On Fedora 29 x86_64, what
does this mean:

$ find /usr/lib64 -name 'ncurses*.*'
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/ncursesw.pc
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/ncurses.pc
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/ncurses++w.pc
/usr/lib64/pkgconfig/ncurses++.pc

Do the Fedora folks build both?

Or maybe this is an artifact of me using PKG_CONFIG_PATH instead of
PKG_CONFIG_LIBDIR?
