Given that the misalignment seems to be in fractions of a character-
width, I'm guessing this has nothing to do with Python or ncurses, but
rather the terminal you're using, and the font it's using to draw text
to the screen. It's like the "mid dot" character you're using to fill
in the maze is not available in the font you're using, so the terminal
grabs that character from another, similar font, but the other font is
just a pixel wider, and so the total width of the line changes
depending on how many "mid dot" characters appear.
Try changing the "mid dot" character to an ordinary period (.) and see
if the layout changes. Also, try using different terminal emulators,
like xterm and rxvt, and see if they lay out the text differently.
