It looks like you're working with a Motif 1.2 compliant version of
LessTif (or a real Motif 1.2). Your best option would be to change to
the Motif 2.* version of LessTif, I use it all the time. (But I'm
developing it of course.)

It's really an oleo bug though, you really can't work with that menu
option with Motif 1.2, but it shouldn't crash. (So you could argue
that there are two bugs, 1 : missing functionality, 2 : a crash.)
