   I’m trying to build rcs on CentOS 8. I’m using the Fedora 34
   src RPM package rcs-5.10.0-2.fc34 that contains rcs-5.10.0.

Thanks for the bug report.

   The error message I am getting is:

   FAIL: t790
   ================================
   1 of 62 tests failed
   Please report to bug-rcs@gnu.org

   I had a look and here’s the contents of rcs-5.10.0/tests/t790.d/out:

   rcsclean: warning: redefinition of -k option
   x,v  -->  x
   revision 1.1 (unlocked)
   done
   y,v  -->  y
   revision 1.1 (unlocked)
   done
   rm -f x
   rm -f y
   PROBLEM: cwd not readable, but rcsclean did not fail

   I’m using Linux 4.18.0 and the filesystem is xfs.

   Is this a known issue? Do you need anything else from me?

This is the first time i've seen this issue; it's not known (to
me). Could you please verify that the ‘chmod u-r .’ (line 62)
is doing its job, by adding a line immediately after:

 ls -ld .

In the output of that command, we should expect to see that cwd
is indeed unreadable.
