Sure, of course that's an option. It's probably the best option for
everyone.

I'm just not going to dictate to another project where they want to
direct their development effort. The hints I provided are easy and
effective, and provide one way to solve the current problem.

(referenced in the original report about bracketed-paste) it seems
that this is a problem in the qterminal-widget Octave uses, and has
been known for a couple of years, so that brings another group and
other competing requirements into the mix.
