Using GNU sh-utils 2.0.11 on a debian box, I found an error in the
date command: the +%e format command tells date to return the day of
the month as a number. Date returns the correct number, but it has a
space in front of the numeral for single numeral days. I believe the
expected result should be a zero padded number. The returned value
for +%e is un-affected by the GNU padding options.
I have found this same +%e oddity in FreeBSD's date.
Thanks for your time, please let me know if you need any other
information.
