What do people think of these ideas?
Under `Character Set', I would be against it. Comments, and other
such text, is much better suited if it is ASCII. What would be the
actual usage? The prefered language is English, and that is purley
ASCII, _if_ there is a need to explicitly use some non-ASCII char. we
already recommend UTF-8.
Recommending GNU FreeFont and GNU Unifont would be a good idea, or a
weaker version that if one uses non-ASCII that it should be
displayable using a free font.

Hello RMS!
I was reading GNU Coding Standards guide and would like to propose two
changes :
1) For Character Set, replace ASCII with UTF-8. As the former is
phasing out and being replaced by the latter.
2) For Fonts, there are no recommendations mentioned. Make GNU FreeFont
and/or GNU UniFont as recommended fonts. So that fonts are consistent
among all GNU Packages/Programs.
What do you think?
Thank you!
Regards,
Raghav "RG" Gururajan.
