I'm guessing you may have already received some emails about this so I will try to be brief.
'Per' is already a word in the english language with multiple somewhat subtle meanings. It is somewhat harder to parse sentences when it is used as a pronoun. I propose just picking one of 'he' or 'she' or using them interchangeably. I myself am not at all bothered by the use of a hypothetical person with a defined gender nor have I met anyone who is (though I am aware such people exist.) I have met many people, however, who are bothered by such gender neutral pronouns as they make documents harder to read. I hope you will reconsider or at least let me know the thought process behind the current system.
Thanks,
-Dan
