texinfo.tex for A4 paper

Hello,

in order to print on A4 paper, I've included the changes suggested by
Christian Cornelssen
http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/bug-texinfo/2001-August/004330.html

Could someone verify and commit these changes for the benefit of all users
of the A4 format?
