The Kawa "style" goes beyond what I believe is possible with CSS.

(This currently uses makeinfo --docbook, and then processes the
DocBook result with XSLT.)
However, it should possible with a combination of JavaScript and CSS.
Also with JavaScript one could have the same keyboard shortcuts
(more or less) as the info program or Emacs info mode.
