Hi Andy, thanks very much for the help.

I've been insanely busy, but I really wanted to give your messages the
attention they deserve. I hope to get to them tonight, or maybe later,
but I can't guarantee.

However, I need to point out that you're duplicating some current work.

First of all, Perl should _not_ be necessary to create build_info.c: it
is present already in the source package. It is only needed to recreate
it in the development sources, not the released ones. But you're past
that already, so...

Also, 1.12 is known to have serious problems with MinGW. However, some
patches I'd done (which I'd thought had been in the sources I released,
but I'd forgotten to merge first) brings MinGW support much closer. In
fact, it produces usable builds for me, though it doesn't link with my
copies of OpenSSL (which lacks the random-data-from-screen function Wget
will assume it has), and I don't have libidn to build with IDN/IRI
support. This version of the sources is available at
http://addictivecode.org/wget/wget-1.12.1-devel.zip (for now). It
includes some work that you've already duplicated, I'm afraid: sorry for
not letting you know sooner.

See how that version works out for you. I only just now noticed that you
apparently got a working build, too, so you might compare the two
sources to see if you added anything I left out. :)

I'll comb back through your messages when I have more time, to catch
anything I missed.
