Thanks very much for finding and fixing this.

The fix itself is trivial enough that it could be applied by itself;
however, to pull in the test as well, plus any of the other cleanup
(etc) changes you made, you'll need to sign copyright assignment or
disclaimer papers with the Free Software Foundation. If you're alright
with doing so, then please fill out the request form I've attached, and
send it to address@hidden The one I've attached is for assigning
past-and-future changes you've made to Wget, in case you plan on making
further changes to Wget. Another option, if you'd prefer it, is to
assign copyright to the FSF for just the changes you've made so far;
that's a different form, which I can give you upon request.

Also, I don't know if you're aware, but Wget is currently without a
maintainer (I stepped down from that position a few weeks ago), and is
seeking someone to fill that spot. At the moment, development is at a
standstill. You seem to know your way around Wget's code and practices
already, so if you're interested in taking up the role, you might chat
more with me off-list about it (if you have questions), or contact
address@hidden to let them know you're interested.

In the meantime, I've submitted a bug report for this at
https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?28777 so it's not forgotten.
