Sure it does. It's grammatically correct English, and I've seen it used
in various places (though somewhat rarely).

Which doesn't mean it's not awkward and confusing (obviously, it has
confused more than one native English speaker). Probably better without it.

And it actually looks *very* strange and not understandable for a non-english person (like me) who had never seen that phrase before in written texts in the described meaning. ;-)

In german one would say "siehe dort", which literally translated to english is "see there" or "look there", but I have some feeling that these are now really wrong english phrases in this context.

Reminds me of a previous discussion about the wget message "Server file no newer than local file" where the english folks said it is correct english and all the others thought "not newer" would be more correct. ;-)
