[Bug-wget] --spider returns 416

Hi,

When spidering for a document on the web I get a :
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 416 Requested Range Not Satisfiable

    The file is already fully retrieved; nothing to do.

when the same file is in my working directory.
Obviously I don't want to load the file, I just want to test if it is
available at the given location. I use it all the time to check if an upload
works and the file resides under its expected address.
