Thanks for reporting the issue.

The said problem has been fixed in the current alpha build of Wget. It will
be available when the next version of Wget is released.

One workaround you can use till then is to use a URL shortener like bit.lyor
goo.gl.
Pass the shortened URL to wget. This works since wget will write to a file
whose name is defined by the url you pass to it on invokation.
