Hey,

I think it would be valuable to take to a new place so that we can discuss future directions without restrictions and we can invite other interested parties. I know there have been others in the past that have expressed interest in this kind of "unified" API. So I'd welcome a new list for this effort.

I would be interested in starting out with laying some objectives of what we should do to make us all be on board and have similar focus. Like for example only caring about client-side TLS. My primary interest will be to have powerful and wide TLS support for libcurl and I think it will benefit from having more users to make more people familiar with the code and work on enhancements and bugfixes..

I'll be happy to then start out this effort by explaing how our current setup works, what the restrictions are and how the first steps towards an independent 'vtls' library could be made.
